Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the web, including her own launched single Bound. On 21st of July 2015, Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her perform on Rihanna references. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. The singer also performed in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video later released in September. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled No One or Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. The track has received nearly 3 million views on YouTube within its first week. In December of 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
